Apex is located in the Triangle in Southwestern Wake County and very
close to Jordan Lake. The towns motto is "Peak of Good Living"
and with it’s quant and charming historical districts and small
town flavor mixed with it’s close proximity to big-city shopping
and amenities, it’s easy to see how the town got it’s
name.
Increased growth in Apex offers many newly built homes, from town
homes to large family homes and features newly built shopping centers
including stores such as, Lowes, Super Target and Linen’s &
Things. Much more is projected for Apex in the coming years including
many new homes and more amenities including Beaver Creek Commons shopping
center, with a large theatre, Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods,
shops, dining and much more.
Apex is practically located between two major highways and has quick
access to RDU airport and was named the state's #1 Small Town in economic
vitality in 1994 by Business North Carolina magazine.
Apex
enjoys mild year-round climate that still provides four distinct seasons;
a lush, rolling landscape tailor made for everything from agriculture
to golf; plentiful water and blue skies. Apex has small town charm
and many new services, including a new year-round elementary school
and the new Eva Perry Regional Library serving all of western Wake
County.
Apex also features many events including it’s annual "Peak
Week Festival", with arts and crafts, a variety of food, children’s
activities and games, as well as, musical entertainment. The festival
runs an entire week and includes a 5K road race, an outdoor concert,
a golf tournament and other exciting events.
Other events include the "Today and Yesteryear Festival",
"Historic Downtown Apex", the "New Hope Valley Railway",
the "Historic Homes Tour" and a "Christmas Parade".
