The Town of Morrisville consists of approximately 10 square miles
in area. Except for a small eleven-acre portion of the Town located
in Durham County, all of the Town's corporate limits are within Wake
County.
Homes property values in Morrisville are some of the highest in the
area due in large part to the town's central location in the Triangle
near Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Research Triangle Park,
and is convenient to an interstate and two highways. Although Morrisville
isn't really big on shopping, it is only minutes from Apex, Cary or
Raleigh, all of which feature restaurants, shopping malls, entertainment
and more.
Located adjacent to Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Research
Triangle Park, Morrisville has enjoyed significant commercial and
industrial growth in recent years as the Town's tax base has grown
from $153 million in 1989 to $525 million in 1999. The town's land
use plan, revised in 1999, identified the tax base as roughly 70%
commercial/industrial and 30% residential.
Morrisville is steeped in history with Confederate battle sites. Morrisville
is planning to revitalize their downtown and a battlefield park is
being considered.
If small town living, convenient to nearby shopping and hosting Raleigh
Durham's international airport, then Morrisville is a place you can
call home.
